Almost daily I get one or more wanna-be musician asking me to LIKE their newly created FB page. With availability of music making software becoming common, anyone can become a musician/DJ overnight and new musician pages are created on Facebook every minute.
So what makes people respond (LIKE) to one page and not to the next? I’ll tell you one thing; it definitely is not because of the music.
So what makes people respond (LIKE) to one page and not to the next? I’ll tell you one thing; it definitely is not because of the music.
So I asked around, emailed a few Web Strategists, consulted my blogging community and Googled some answers and discovered that everyone seem to be agreeing on the same basic principles.
1. Image sells: Invest in a professional looking image that will attract FANS to you page. This includes a high quality/resolution photograph and graphic art
2. Email Signature: Every email you send is an opportunity to link to your facebook page. Remind people to LIKE your page. Use Twitter to push FB and FB to push Twitter.
3. Incentive: To maximize your promotion offer a free gift to those who join you page. Free download/airtime/tickets to a show etc.
4. Use your current fan base: People LIKE what other people LIKE. So ask your fans to help push the page. Aslo allow then to upload and tag photos from events and ask them to friends to tag themselves in the pictures. This will post to their walls as well and will lead to additional traffic for you.
5. Power in numbers: Contact administratorss of groups and push their campaigns on your page and ask them to do likewise. Leverage of each others fans.
6. Join your page via SMS: Send a text message to 32665 (FBOOK) with the words “fan yourusername” OR “like yourusername” (without the quotes). This feature is ideal when you’re in front of a live audience.
7. Use your website/blog: Install a facebook “Like Box” into your site. Installing a “Like Box” is an excellent way to allow visitors to your site become fans without even leaving your page.
8. Suggest button: Use the “suggest to friends” feature of your page. Use this feature sparingly. Personally, I try to only invite people go my page once because I know it annoys me when multiple people invite me.
9. Reverbnation: Join reverbnation and synch your RVBN to your FB page. Reverbnation allow you to manage your Twitter account without leaving the application. See www.reverbnation.com
10. Create a group: Groups are more powerful than pages in terms of their messaging ability. Pages send updates, but groups send messages directly to a users facebook inbox, triggering an email alert.
I stumbled upon this while surfing the net. I haven’t tested it to see if it works or not. I believe it’s quite concise.
So try it, let me know how it works and share with others. I personally enjoy using www.fblikesyou.com. It’s a free easy to use APP that can give you up to 100 likes a day.
